A Mom’s peptalk

We’re heading into the unknown- and with autism that can be pretty darn scary. Here’s my self pep talk-

  • we can do this
  • what’s the worse that could happen? (think of the least worse:)
  • we’ve been through new experiences before and they went fine
  • we worked long and hard on this behavior plan, it will not fail us now
  • if were not challenged we’re not growing
  • our goal is independence (not dependence on routine)
  • the world is a good place and most people are good at heart
  • a week from now this will all be over and, if necessary, we’ll be back to our routine
