Fake hospitality

if we’re visiting or hosting someone the best advise I can give them without explaining every detail of autism or our behavior plan, is to ask them to pretend they’re in a play and put on a smile, pretend they’re happy and comfortable with autism and it’s restrictions, be welcoming and relaxed, and not say anything unless it’s nice and agreeable. basically the golden rule, but with autism it’s more important because smiles bring smiles, and frustration and impatience bring the same.
Be the mirror image of what you want to see in your child (friend, sister, cousin).
